Sherra V. Gilbert

Sherra is a bilingual Trial Attorney-Mediator offering mediation services in support of a wide-range of simple to complex multi-party civil litigation disputes. Her experience in the legal industry spans 15+ years primarily as first chair counsel. She is a multi-faceted, pragmatic negotiator with substantial experience at the federal and state level. Sherra’s ability to achieve the most desirable outcome for her clients, combined with her enthusiasm for the practice of law, makes her a respected mentor and trusted mediator.

Sherra is an avid runner, enthusiastic cyclist, and a loving mother of a cuddly dachshund named Augie. She also enjoys speaking with law students at her alma mater, coaching for the University of Houston's ADR team, and providing pro bono mediation services to the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center.

Prior to founding the Gilbert Law Firm, Sherra worked as in-house attorney for a major insurance company where she represented clients in over 800 civil cases, including 45+ jury trials as first-chair resulting in favorable verdicts. Sherra has extensive experience in personal injury & insurance litigation including the handling of automobile negligence, premises liability, property damage, uninsured motorist, and general negligence cases. In addition to her significant trial and courtroom experience, Sherra has successfully resolved hundreds of lawsuits through mediation. Her mediation practice focuses primarily on navigating civil disputes by applying her experience as a litigator to the dispute resolution process.
